Hainan's Qionghai City was decorated with traditional palace lanterns on
Feb. 9, 2006. The tradition of delivering lantern on the Lantern Festival
is popular in some villages of Qionghai, which is located along the
Wanquan River. Villagers will get together and draw lots in the household
which got the lantern in the previous year and kids in the village will
go in a long queue delivering the palace lantern to whoever winning the
lot, which shows that this family will make a fortune and have newborns
in that year.
