Farmers of Zhejiang's County were displaying nearly 100 "boneless festive
lanterns" of multifarious shapes and different themes at their square on
August 22. The embroidered boneless festive lantern was originated in the
Tang Dynasty (618-907), and therefore was also called "Tang lantern". It
also has another name -- "sacred lantern". The festive lantern has no
bones and is made of slips of paper with various patterns embroidered
with needles, which forms the fame of the lantern.
