www.chinanews.cn 2005-08-22 15:04:57
The Gelao ethnic group celebrated their "Thanksgiving Day" singing and
dancing on Aug. 20, 2005. Hundreds of Gelao compatriots gathered at the
stockaded village by Hongfeng (red maple) Lake in Guiyang, capital city
of southwest China's Guizhou Province, to celebrate this annual festival
in a unique way. They picked new harvest in the field, held ancestral
worship ceremonies and staged folk art performances.
