Mr. Wang in blue shirt carried the "camel dan (carrying pole with load on
it)" on his shoulder and sold wonton on Aug. 4, on the old streets in
Huangshan City's Tunxi existing since the Song Dynasty (960AD-1279AD)
while beating the bamboo clappers. A stove was placed on one side of the
carrying pole while a drawer filled with bowls, chopsticks and seasoning
was on the other. Load on two sides of the pole are almost of the same
weight so that Mr. Wang can carry it on his shoulder without having to
try balancing the load. Such "camel dan" crossing streets and alleys has
been a type of mobile snack store in ancient Huizhou.
