A German expert (right) was introducing guests a new grape variety at the
"China cultivation base for European grape seedlings" in Shanting
District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province on August 9. After four years
of experiment and numerous grafting, the base has successfully cultivated
16 high-quality varieties of grape unique in China.

The planting area of grape at the "China cultivation base for European
grape seedlings" amounts to more than 2,300 mu (379.5 acres) now and will
reach 10,000 mu in three years. The base has become China's "Silicon
Valley of Grape".
