The conference hall of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal
People's Congress was open to the public for the first time on Feb. 20th.
80 students from Shanghai's Shidong Middle School, alma mater of Lee Ao,
who is famous in Taiwan's cultural circle, were lucky enough to be chosen
as the first batch of "standing committee commissioners" of a simulated
Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. These students adopted criticism
similar to Lee's in the conference hall and passed the "motion" on
initiating courses on traditional Chinese culture for middle school
students.
